Prescription Drug Taskforce
The Prescription Drug Taskforce consists of pharmacists, police, medical and community personnel gathered to focus on prescription drug abuse, which has become a national problem due to its’ relative ease of availability and perceived safety as a medically dispensed product.
OCP and Windsor County Prevention Partnership (WCPP) a coalition of community partnerships throughout the county have participated for two years in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a federal program, through law enforcement, to encourage communities to turn in unused prescription drugs at a designated site within the community - usually a police station. Coalitions, including OCP, have provided community resources and promotion to get the word out about the effort.
