2010-2011 Initiatives and Events:

Bridgewater Lunch Buddies: Launch and Celebration February 8, from 5-7 p.m. at Bridgewater Village School.

Community Dialogue: Join in youth facilitated dialogues about important issues facing young people and communities. Initial dialogue was held in 2008 and follow up dialogues were held in each of our local communities in 2010. Health and Wellness Initiative:  Promoting physical activity and good nutrition across the ages. Our HEAL CHALLENGE combines healthy eating and exercise with a handy brochure/checklist and partners with the Farmers Market on the Green and Ottauqueechee Health Center.  For more information, please visit HEALTHY EATING ACTIVE LIVING. Creating a Healthy Environment: Includes supporting work-place tobacco cessation classes and exploring establishing smoke-free public building entrances Shining Light Mentoring Taskforce: Strengthening the mentoring program at WUMS/WUHS, and expanding the mentoring program to Bridgewater and Reading Elementary Schools.  Woodstock Healthy Teens: Works with teens and community to educate about relational violence. Parent Network: information, education and peer support for Woodstock Union middle school parents.

Generations Together: A community retreat of 75 people across five generations, including one-third young people, to create a vision and develop an action plan for building a community wide network of support for young people.
