Shining Light Mentoring Program

Woodstock Union Middle and High School

Mentors and mentees at Woodstock Union Middle/High School meet once per week for approximately 1.5 hours throughout the academic year.  Mentors and mentees meet during the school day, usually during the students’ study hall and spend time at approved sites located throughout the Woodstock area.  Mentors and mentees may meet outside of school hours with prior approval from the mentee’s parent and the volunteer coordinator.  While the initial commitment is only for one school year, many mentoring relationships choose to renew for many years.  Research shows that the longer mentoring relationships last, the more benefit for the mentee – and the mentor!
